A fresh take on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is on the way, and this time it’s coming from A24.
Alongside the previously announced TV series headed up by JT Mollner and executive produced by Glen Powell, the studio is also developing a brand-new movie.
According to reports, Curry Barker - known for 'Obsession' - will direct this “reimagining,” though details about his vision for Leatherface remain tightly under wraps. Producing the film are Roy Lee and Steven Schneider, alongside several collaborators including Kim Henkel.
A24 secured the rights after a competitive bidding war, signalling big ambitions for both film and TV. The original 1974 classic, directed by Tobe Hooper, followed a group of young travelers who encounter the terrifying, mask-wearing killer Leatherface and his cannibalistic family.
