The horror community (and everyone else) is mourning the loss of Anthony Head, the actor best known to genre fans as Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Head passed away peacefully at the age of 72 following complications from pneumonia, according to a statement released by his family.
For seven seasons, Head brought warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength to Giles, the Watcher who guided Buffy Summers through countless supernatural battles. His performance helped define one of television's most beloved horror-fantasy series and earned him a lasting place in genre history.
Beyond Buffy, Head enjoyed a distinguished career spanning television, film, theatre, and music, with memorable roles in Merlin and Ted Lasso.
His legacy will endure through the countless fans who found comfort, courage, and inspiration in his work. He will be deeply missed :(
