Now, 'Clown in a Cornfield' (2025), based on the Adam Cesare novel of the same name, was fine. The first half is pretty generic but it improves after a cool midpoint twist - only to falter again at the end. It received a rather lukewarm critical reception (as you'd expect) and only took $13.5m at the box office. However, the fact that it barely cost a million to make meant that it was something of a financial success. So we guess it's no big shock to learn that a sequel is in the works.
Titled 'Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives', the follow up is being produced by Temple Hill Entertainment and will be written by Hudson Morgan and Will Lowell.
Apparently the sequel will follow the first film’s Final Girl, Quinn Maybrook, to college where she will 'learn some of America’s cruelest lessons.”
Murderous clowns are sure to play a big part in that, obviously...
