The Leprechaun movies are pretty bad, let's be honest. Amazingly, there are eight of them - and none of them has scored above 2.5 on Letterboxd. The franchise may best be known for the fact that the original (1993) starred a fresh-faced Jennifer Aniston. Still, it has its fans and there's a lot of love for Warwick Davies - who played the murderous leprechaun for most of the movies.
Anyway, we digress. After an eight year gap - we're getting a new one. And it feels as if we may get an upgrade in quality too as the film is being produced by Oren Koules (Saw) and written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (The Collector, Saw IV)
Oren Koules said:
'After producing all the Saw films, and twenty-three wonderful years at Lionsgate, I’m thrilled to be working again with the Lionsgate team, Patrick and Marcus, and my son, Miles, on a terrifying new way into the rich world of Leprechaun.'
That'll take us to nine films. Bloody hell.
